What are frown lines and what do we offer to treat them?
Glabellar lines are the term used to describe the vertical lines that form between your eyebrows. Often referred to as 'frown lines', these begin to develop from the movement of the eyebrows in a frowning motion. The procures and corrugates are the two facial muscles responsible for this upon contraction and relaxation. Whether frown lines form is dependant on your anatomy and how expression are as someone who is hyperexpressionate is more likely to develop these lines than others.
Frown lines can be easily fixed with two methods. Anti wrinkle injections - this reduces the muscle movement therefore reducing the static line. However when these lines have been developing over time the frown line may remain. In this case dermal filler can be used to fill in the remaining space to give a smoother effect. The treatment you will need will vary between person to person and so a consultation is a must!

Generally the upper half of the face, the frown lines between the eyes, and crows feet either side of the eyes.

They will relax the muscles in the targeted area to smooth out lines in the face. This is why picking the correct injector is key as injections in the wrong areas can have adverse effects on the face, for example causing eyebrows to lower.

Patients find anti wrinkle injections wear off at different rates, we recommend every 3-6 months for a top up. Some clients may wait up to a year.If you use the muscles in the forehead a lot to express yourself then the effects will wear off faster.

'baby botox' is where smaller doses of anti wrinkle injections are put into the muscle, it wears off faster but allows more movement. Patients sometimes choose this if they have not had this treatment before.
